Build financial literacy and conscious money management among young people
DECO - PORTUGUESE ASSOCIATION FOR CONSUMER DEFENSE
Financial literacy
Description
Young Investor Week introduces young people to financial literacy, helping them develop a more conscious approach to managing their personal finances from an early age.
Through a series of digital workshops, young people are guided to reflect on:
- the value of saving to reach personal goals and face unexpected expenses
- the main characteristics of different savings products
- the basics of return, risk and liquidity in financial investments
- the precautions to take when choosing a financial product
These sessions also covers the safe use of digital financial services, helping young people approach online banking, digital payments and emerging tools like cryptoassets.
The initiative is open to students and teachers from DECO Jovem schools, and is part of the global World Investor Week.
This project is developed by DECO , the Portuguese member of BEUC, as part of its youth programme DECO Jovem
