Guide parents in preparing healthier snacks for their children

Description
Snack Brigade helps parents prepare healthier, more balanced snacks for their children, supporting good eating habits from an early age.
The initiative is aimed at parents of children in pre-school and primary education, and is delivered through workshops that cover:
- the nutritional needs of children at different ages
- how to plan and prepare healthy snacks in everyday life
- how to read and interpret food product labels
- how to find the right balance between home-prepared and ready-to-eat packaged meals
In Portugal, one in three children is affected by overweight or obesity, often linked to nutritionally unbalanced food choices. The initiative responds to this issue by guiding families through the nutritional needs of pre-school and primary school children, and by showing how to prepare healthy snacks in a practical, quick and affordable way.
This project is developed by DECO , the Portuguese member of BEUC, as part of its youth programme DECO Jovem.
