Strengthen consumer awareness among young people through workshops and resources

Description

Verbraucherchecker strengthens consumer awareness among young people across Germany, supporting them in becoming informed and confident consumers from an early age.

The programme explores eight topics that shape young people's everyday consumer life:
- food labelling
- energy
- data protection
- online shopping
- financial tips on social media
-,artificial intelligence
- fast fashion

Aimed at teachers, educators and anyone working with young people, the initiative offers three ways to bring consumer education into the classroom:
- interactive workshops delivered free of charge by trained trainers
- free digital trainer training to qualify professionals to deliver the workshops
- the Checker Space, a research platform with podcasts, games and downloadable materials on consumer topics
In addition, teachers can use the Verbraucherchecker presentations, worksheets and solution sheets directly in their own lessons.

This project is developed by the Federation of German Consumer Organisations ( Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband-vzbv ), a BEUC member.
