Description
Material Compass provides independent, expert‑based evaluations of online teaching materials to help teachers and educators identify reliable and advertising‑free resources for schools.
The initiative focuses on reviewing teaching materials in key areas of consumer education, including financial education, media literacy, nutrition and health, sustainable consumption and consumer rights. These evaluations are made available through an online platform.
The platform includes:
- teaching materials reviewed and assessed by independent experts in the fields of digital education, financial education, education for sustainable development and nutrition education
- a scientifically developed evaluation grid used to assess the quality of content, the didactic approach and the design of teaching materials
This project is developed by the Federation of German Consumer Organisations ( Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband-vzbv ) a BEUC member.
