Description
The ECP 880 initiative helps consumer professionals educate citizens about product safety and sustainability under new EU rules. It supports them in understanding new consumer rights and encourages consumers to make informed choices and exercise their rights, particularly in the digital environment.
The project is built around three connected pillars:
-ECP 880 Toolkit: An online training resource with practical tools, infographics and videos covering topics such as digital product safety, the Digital Product Passport (DPP) and new consumer rights.
-blended Training Programme: A combination of online "Safer Consumer Mornings" sessions and in-person workshops in Spain and Portugal, allowing participants to learn from experts and exchange experiences with peers.
-the "8 80" Approach: A method that ensures all training materials are easy to understand and accessible for people of all ages, from children to older adults, with particular attention to vulnerable groups and the digital divide.
The main goals of the project are:
-equip consumer professionals and organisations with the knowledge and skills to guide and support consumers.
-promote more sustainable consumer choices by improving understanding of product information, traceability and environmental impact.
-ensure a uniformly safe and informed consumer environment across the EU, particularly in local and rural areas with fewer resources
The ECP 8 80 project is coordinated by AIJU in partnership with Federación Provincial de Amas de Casa y Consumidores Lucentum (Spain) and APSI – Associação para a Promoção da Segurança Infantil (Portugal).
The project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
