Description
The Consumer (Re)generation – CoRe project helps young people aged 12–16 develop the knowledge and skills they need to become informed and responsible consumers.
As part of the pilot project, teachers delivered a school programme using a digital educational kit. The lessons covered consumer rights and responsibilities, safe shopping, unfair commercial practices, and consumer protection. Students taking part in the pilot programme created the Young Consumers' Manifesto, which highlights the rights and responsibilities of responsible consumers.
Through these educational materials, the project aims to:
-promote safe purchasing practices online and in physical stores.
-help young consumers recognize and protect themselves against unfair and aggressive commercial practices.
-raise awareness of product safety and the fight against counterfeiting.
-increase understanding of consumer rights, responsibilities, and complaint mechanisms within the European Single Market.
-encourage young people to people to become "Consumer Rights Ambassadors" within their families and communities, extending education and awareness to adult audiences through the dissemination of the Young Consumers’ Manifesto.
Consumer (Re)generation – CoRe is a project co-funded by the European Union and implemented by Cittadinanzattiva APS in collaboration with InfoCons and the Union of Working Consumers of Greece (EKEE), with the support of iliad.
